Blake Ashby

Blake Ashby, Manager.  Blake has over 30 years of startup experience in industries as diverse as telecommunications, agriculture and software.  He oversaw the U.S. portion of a global data normalization project for the U.S. meat and poultry industry (mpxml.org).  Ashby helped found a USDA further processor with Jim Mueller that grew to over $20 million in revenue before being acquired.  Also with Mueller, he co-founded and served as the manager for a 270,000-square foot cannabis greenhouse that was sold in early 2019 for $26 million.

Ashby helped found a competitive phone company that grew to offer phone and internet services in five states before being acquired for $145 million.  He prepared the original business plan for SAVVIS Communications (now part of CenturyLink), and worked with the company through its first $10 million venture round. Ashby also served as an executive coach for the Washington University Olin School of Business “Hatchery” program and is a volunteer teacher for the Urban League’s Save Our Sons adult and high school program, teaching the basics of capitalism.
